Brightfieldpublishing offers services that may include manuscript evaluation, editing, proofreading, formatting, cover design, publishing setup, author websites, distribution assistance, and marketing support. The exact scope, price, timeline, and deliverables for your project will be spelled out in your written proposal, invoice, order form, or service agreement.
Publishing and marketing outcomes can vary widely. We do not guarantee retailer acceptance, reviews, bestseller status, media coverage, sales volume, rankings, or any specific level of revenue.
3. Client Responsibilities
- You must provide accurate contact, billing, manuscript, and project information.
- You confirm that you own, or have permission to use, all text, images, trademarks, and other material you submit to us.
- You're responsible for reviewing drafts and providing approvals or revision requests on time.
- You must not submit unlawful, infringing, defamatory, deceptive, or harmful content.
4. Pricing and Payments
Prices are based on the agreed project scope. Unless stated otherwise in writing, work begins once the required deposit or payment is received. Additional work outside the approved scope may call for a revised quotation. Clients remain responsible for applicable taxes, retailer fees, printing costs, shipping, or third-party expenses identified in the proposal.
5. Intellectual Property and Ownership
You retain ownership of the original manuscript and any client-supplied material. Once payment is complete, the final custom deliverables created specifically for your project transfer to you, with the exception of third-party assets, licensed fonts, stock media, software, templates, internal methods, and pre-existing materials. We may showcase completed public-facing work in our portfolio unless confidentiality has been agreed to in writing.
6. Revisions, Approvals, and Timelines
Revision limits and delivery estimates are set out in the applicable proposal. Timelines depend on timely client feedback, content delivery, approvals, and third-party platform processing. Approving a draft authorizes us to move forward, and later changes may be treated as additional work.
7. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
Services are provided with reasonable professional care, but the website and services are otherwise provided "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, Brightfieldpublishing will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses, lost profits, lost opportunities, third-party platform decisions, or events beyond our reasonable control. Our total liability relating to a specific service will not exceed the amount paid for that service.
8. Termination and Changes
Either party may end a project according to the applicable service agreement. We may suspend work for nonpayment, abusive conduct, unlawful content, infringement concerns, or a material breach. We may update these terms by posting a revised version with a new effective date.
