1. Customized Service Policy
Editing, writing, design, formatting, publishing, website, and marketing services are prepared individually for each client. Your payment covers our team's scheduled time, research, planning, creative work, production, and any third-party commitments made on your behalf. For that reason, completed work and costs already incurred cannot be refunded.
2. Refund Eligibility
A cancellation request made before work begins may qualify for a refund, minus payment-processing fees and any costs that cannot be recovered. If work has already started, any approved refund will be calculated after subtracting the value of completed work, reserved production time, delivered drafts, administrative costs, and third-party expenses.
No refund is available after final approval, delivery of final files, publication, distribution setup, website deployment, campaign launch, or completion of the agreed service.
3. Non-Refundable Items
- Deposits marked as non-refundable in a proposal or invoice.
- Completed editing, writing, design, formatting, consultation, or setup work.
- Approved concepts, drafts, milestones, and final files.
- ISBN, copyright, printing, shipping, advertising, software, stock media, platform, or other third-party fees.
- Rush fees and work carried out beyond the original scope.
- Delays caused by missing client material, feedback, approvals, or account access.
4. How to Request a Cancellation or Refund
Send a written request to info@brightfieldpublishing.com with your name, invoice or order reference, the service you purchased, and your reason for the request. We'll review the project record and get back to you with the applicable status. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method whenever practical; bank and payment-provider processing times can vary.
5. Revisions and Service Concerns
If a deliverable doesn't match the agreed scope, let us know promptly and share specific details. We'll use the included revision process first to work through reasonable concerns. A change in personal preference, business direction, or project goals after approval doesn't make completed work refundable.
6. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
Please reach out to us before starting a payment dispute so we can review the project and work toward a fair resolution. Unauthorized chargebacks for services that were properly delivered may result in suspension of work, withdrawal of licenses or deliverables where legally allowed, and submission of project records to the payment provider.
7. Policy Conflicts
If a signed proposal, order form, or service agreement includes project-specific cancellation or refund terms, those terms take priority for that project. Nothing in this policy limits any rights that cannot lawfully be waived.
